The crimping of air suspension primarily involves the following four steps:

❶Pre-assembly: The port of the vulcanized rubber bladder (containing a crimping ring/skeleton made of metal or high-strength plastic) is fitted over the flange of the metal end cap.

❷Positioning: Placed into the specialized mold of the crimping machine. The mold shape matches the final configuration of the end cap and bladder joint.

❸Crimping: Hydraulically driven molds (typically large, precision radial crimping machines) apply immense, uniform radial pressure.

This force causes plastic deformation of the thin-walled flange (or sleeve) on the metal end cap, tightly enveloping and interlocking with the crimp ring and rubber layer at the bladder port.

❹Permanent Connection Formation: This creates an interference-fit, mechanically interlocked structure between metal and rubber/casing. The rubber is tightly compacted, ensuring gas cannot leak from the seams.
